Becoming Certified as a Telecommunications Reseller
What is the difference between a
reseller and a CLEC?
Both resellers and CLEC's may operate switches, but only CLECs may operate transmission facilities within Wisconsin. Information on becoming a CLEC may be found here. How long does an application
usually take to process?
Applications usually take about 1-2 months to process, from the time the PSC receives the application to the time at which the order is issued. Is local counsel required?
No. Many resellers choose to have counsel, but it is not required by the PSC. What are the most common reasons for delayed certification?
1 All filings with the PSC of Wisconsin must be submitted in PDF format over our Electronic Regulatory Filing (ERF) System. If you are unable to accommodate the scanning and converting of these documents, please contact Karl Hillman of Records Management at (608)267-2897 or Gail Fralick. |
